Building the Architecture of tomorrow

The quantum revolution presents the best and brightest in science and technology with the chance to not only embrace the future – but to shape it.  Massive investment from both government and industry has brought quantum computing to the threshold of commercial viability and adoption, meaning that now is the time to get involved at the ground floor of productization.

What’s the next ‘big hairy problem’ facing quantum computing?  Quantum networking, or the ability to connect these powerful systems in a way that preserves the quantum state.  With quantum networking, users can achieve meaningful qubit counts faster to tackle game-changing problems,  enjoy modular growth that lets customers easily grow with quantum as needs expand, and leverage truly unbreakable security that’s protected by not only encryption but literally the laws of quantum physics.

If you fit one of our open roles below, we’d love to connect with you to see if this is the right place for you to embrace your future.

Open Positions

Position Overview

At memQ, we are building extensible quantum networks that will unlock the real power of quantum computing! Recognized as the leaders in extending and connecting quantum systems at scale, we sit at the dynamic intersection of quantum physics, materials science, photonics, and information systems. Powered by a world-class, diverse team of experts, we foster a high-energy, collaborative environment where our groundbreaking photonic integrated circuits and software deliver the essential scalability solutions quantum systems need today.

We are moving fast with an ambitious hardware portfolio, which includes our quantum network interface controllers (QNIC), quantum memory modules (QMM), quantum control systems (QCS), and our extensible distributed quantum compiler software (xDQC) – and are actively deploying these with industry-leading partners and customers. To drive this next chapter of growth, we are seeking a high-impact Quantum Networking Solutions Engineer to lead technical engagements, collaborate directly with key partners, and serve as the vital bridge between our cutting-edge tech and real-world implementation on quantum systems. If you thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and want to actively shape the scaling of quantum technologies – and the future of information technology – we want to talk to you!

Key Responsibilities

The Quantum Networking SE will be a go-to person and technical resource for end customers, memQ’s partners (i.e. quantum compute system builders) and memQ’s internal product development and technology teams.

Our customer’s ultimate success depends on our ability to help solve leading-edge problems in relation to scaling quantum systems in a repeatable, cost-effective manner. Our ability to build and maintain relationships with these partners and customers is what will drive us and our technology going forward.

You will interface with Sales, Product Management, and our Engineering team to:

  • Lead the technical discussion/aspects of the sales cycle
  • Provide fast, clear, and impactful technical support to customers during design, evaluation, and deployment phases
  • Devise and recommend strategies and design tips to optimize integration and performance of our technology into our customers’ architectures
  • Lead and direct internal resource efforts to support customer demonstrations, qualification and testing efforts, and technology trials
  • Travel to meet with customers, evangelize our technology, collect requirements, and provide support that solves customer problems

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, optical, or materials science), Physics, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree in physics, quantum technologies, or optical engineering is a plus.
  • Experience: 6+ years in engineering, product management, or technical sales support within the technology sector. Experience in quantum computing, photonics, or high-performance networking industries is preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong familiarity with enterprise IT, networking, photonics, and quantum computing concepts including various qubit modalities, principles of data loading and encoding, readout, and use of optical technologies for modulation and control. Experience in quantum hardware or software ecosystems is a plus.

Attributes and Skills Summary

  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability to a fast-paced environment, and a passion for cutting-edge technologies.
  • Ability to convey complex scientific and technological principles in a common-language manner to customers and partners who are entering the world of quantum networking, effectively communicating across both engineering and commercial functions
  • Leading by influence
  • A knack for understanding and distilling customer requirements down to the problems they are trying to solve
  • Schematic and layout review to anticipate customer issues before parts are in hand

Position Parameters

  • Location: North America, with ability to travel up to 50% to customers, partners, industry events and conferences
  • Reporting to: Director, Business Development

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives
  • Equity options in a high-growth quantum tech company
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement plans
  • Opportunities for professional development in one of the most innovative fields in technology

If you are a visionary leader ready to accelerate the adoption of quantum networking solutions, we encourage you to apply. This role is remote-friendly with occasional travel to key hubs in quantum research (e.g., Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, or Europe).
